California Dreaming

Actually, even though it's kind of rainy and cloudy in the n'east, I can't say I'm really California dreaming these days. But I'll always have an enduring fondness for the the great California pop music of The Bangles and The Mamas and Papas, especially in the spring and summer - must be the harmonies. So here's a couple of mixtapes for those hazy late afternoons in the summer. (Oh, I should warn folks - some of the songs are from vinyl rips. So there's a few crackles and pops - just like the old days.)

This is a long overdue concept & it's a great one! Both these bands mesh perfectly together. I always thought they did anyway & I'm justified that someone else felt the same. Thanks for this post. It's appreciated. Call me insane, but I always thought Husker Du would have done a sizzling version of "Hero Takes A Fall."

Glad you like it. And I definitely like the idea of Husker Du covering "Hero Takes a Fall" - maybe the B-side could be the Bangles covering Don't Want to Know if You're Lonely.
