On the Right Side of 2014

As I was putting the finishing touches on my year end, I couldn't help but notice how many veteran acts are on the last half of Disc Two (save Benjamin Booker, Mr. Little Jeans, and even, by comparison, Andrew Bird).  All I'll say is that the old cats still had it this year.  To encourage folks to go out and buy a new artist they're interested in, all the mp3s are tagged with the album they came from.  I've also re-upped all the best of compilations from years past.  Hope everyone has a very happy New Year.

Disc One

Morning Beck
Life of Doubt Withered Hand
Long Legged Blonde Memphis Margot & The Nuclear So & So's
Now Hear In Cloud Nothings
Cruel City Augustines
Hard Wired Shakey Graves
The New SF Bay Blues Hurray for the Riff Raff

The Silent Orchestra Hamilton Leithauser
I Never Learn Lykke Li

Close My Eyes Redding Hunter
This Old Heartache Lucinda Williams
Lights Out Angel Olsen

A great compilation. Most I've heard of, but a lot I don't know at all. Thank you and all the best for the New Year.

Looks good Ish. A lot of folks I know or know of but don't know the tracks so I'll enjoy. Two wonderful albums I fell in with years were Patty Griffin's American Kid and Rosanne Cash's The River and the Thread. Sweet and well played personal tunes. Thanks for all the music!!!

Oops. "…this year..", not "...with years…" Sorry. My bad.

Oops! again…. And Joshua Thomas' The Harboring!!! Beautiful.

With confession being good for the soul (or so I'm reliably informed) I'll happily admit to my ignorance of all but a handful of the acts in this mix. But that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to giving the tunes a spin - because I am, so a very Happy New Year to you. Cheers!

@Gram and dogbreath,

I hadn't heard a bunch of the acts until this year so you're in good company. :) A very happy New Year to both.

Kevinpat,
I'm not familiar with Joshua Thomas, but I did hear a lot of good stuff about the new Roseanne Cash - it's one of those albums I forgot to check out. Have to listen to that one and the Joshua Thomas.
