Though it was certainly a lot better than 2020, I don't think 2021 is going to down in the global history books as a great year. But, as always, there was a lot of great music. I'd especially recommend all of the following artists' 2021 releases: Strand of Oaks' In Heaven, Jimbo Mathus & Andrew Bird's These 13, David Sanford's A Prayer for Lester Bowie, First Aid Kit's Live Tribute to Leonard Cohen, Rodrigo Amarante's Drama, A Sweet Relief Tribute to Joey Spampinato, Lord Huron's Long Lost, Charley Crockett's: 10 for Slim: Charley Crockett Sings James Hand, and Sons of Kemet's Black to the Future
As usual, I've only included artists who weren't on the two previous years compilations with the exception of Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten. (They sound so good together and the song just really captured 2021 for me, so there you go.) I've also re-upped all my previous "best of" yearly compilations (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).

Thanks . . . and Happy New Year!
Hello,
I went to the download page and was denied access file. There was a note to contact you.
Thank you
Many thanks! Have a happy new year!
Happy New Year. Thanks - another awesome collection.
I tried to use the download links on the prior years and can't seem to get them to work. Could I possibly trouble you for a re-up?
Berni, Crab Devil, and Heartsofstone,
Happy New Year to you as well. Hope you enjoy the compilation!
Ish
Regis,
Not sure what happened. Perhaps you could try a different broswer?
best,
Ish
Heartsofstone,
Fixed all the links. Hopefully, they should work now.

Ish
Thanks for these, look forward to listening
@spunkyonions,
You're quite welcome. Hope you like it!

Love the Mathus & Bird album. I haven't met Bird yet, but Jimbo is a super cool guy. He used the absolute coolest greeting I've ever received when I interviewed him a few years back in Corinth, Miss. We had a few minutes to talk right before his set, and when I approached him he held up his hand to give me five and said, "What's happenin', my blood!"
I've been so waiting for the right opportunity to use that one.
Bobby,
That is a very cool story. I also love the album, but I have to confess I actually hadn't heard of him until he did the album with Andrew Bird. Better late than never.
best,
Ish
