A Wave of Old School Reggae

Reggae seems to have acquired a bad name in recent years (cue scene from Ghost World). Now, I never got much into dub, but I still have a fondness for old school reggae – especially those great falsetto voices. So, uh, here’s a reggae compilation.

Sweet Sensation The Melodians
Open Up The Gate The Congos
Undying Love Ernest Wilson
Young Lover The Heptones
Sitting And Watching Dennis Brown
Wonderful Tonight Kotch
Quit Trying Bunny Wailer
On Verra Ca Toure Kunda
Ba Ba Boom The Jamaicans
Puff She Puff Black Uhuru
I Love to Truck Eddy Grant
Mix Up, Mix Up Bob Marley & The Wailers
Gave You My Love Delroy Wilson
I Wish it Would Rain Jimmy Riley
Pure Ranking Horace Andy
Dry Up Your Tears Bruce Ruffin
54-46 That's My Number Toots And The Maytals
The Israelites Desmond Dekker

excellent. i love the early days of reggae (1969-1973) especially that stuff produced by like Leslie Kong.
Bright, crisp riddins. Harmony and soulful singing.
