Sucking in the 70s

I don't really believe in the concept of guilty pleasures - life's too short for those kind of worries. On the other hand......well, I'll just use the defense that the music you listened to as a10-15 year old is the stuff you'll like the rest of your life. In that spirit, I give you my 70s mixtape. Indulge!!!

Oh my God.
Seasons in the Sun.
What a wretched song.
Horrible rhymes with all the emotional depth of a Hallmark Card.
Thanks for the memories.

For some reason, I always find the absurd maudlinism (?) of that song fascinating. I also wonder what his label must have thought when they heard the song.

Ish,

Thanks for posting this. I was looking for "Magnet and Steel" for my Yacht Rock compilation. "Why would someone DO that to themselves??" is a legitimate question.

When I was in CA for school there was a great college radio station that ran a show on Saturday mornings entitled "1974 to 1977: What the Hell Happened?" and it featured the crazily tasteless stuff released during that time period.

"Havin' my baby... what a lovely way of showing how much you love me..."

E-bone,
I just recently learned of the term "yacht rock" so I'm curious to know what's on your compilation.

This is music from when I grew up. And I know that your comps will be better than those of "Time Life Music" etc.

Thanks. I will love it.

@bglobe313,

Quite welcome..and I do hope you like it more than the Time Life series ones - though some of those collections weren't half bad. :)
