It's been just over 60 years since John Cale met Lou Reed and formed the Velvet Underground. Not only is he still performing, he's still really vital artist, as evinced by the fact that he's released full length albums in 2023 and 2024. Mercy from 2023 is especially impressive as I would rate it among his top five solo releases.
What, then, could be better in this bleak midwinter than a John Cale compilation? I tried to find every little obscure Cale nugget I could (and there are a lot of live performances), but I'm sure I missed more than a few. I'm posting Discs 1 and 2 today, and then I'll post Disc 3-5 over the next two months.

Wow, thanks tremendously. Have dabbled in Cale, but not really explored, and now this is a way of doing so
Listened to it today, wow, so many great songs I'd never heard. Looking froward to the additional volumes.
@Anonymous, You're quite welcome! Hopefully, it serves as a nice compliment to listening to his formal releases.
@Erik, It was a lot of fun finding all soundtracks, guest appearances, and various other obscure releases that Cale's done over the years.
Another great compilation, thank you x
Marvelous, thank you for your hard work on this. I had the opportunity to see Cale in concert at the Big Ears festival in Knoxville, TN. Fear is still a man's best friend. Not to create work for you when you already do so much, but for a Vol. 2 it sure would be eye-opening to survey the range of Cale's productions for others... Keep on rockin'!
@Anonymous, You're quite welcome!
Anonymous, That is a really good idea for a compilation and I've never done a compilation centered around a producer. It might take a while, but I think I will eventually take you up on that idea.
